Since the founding of SRA in 1986, Bill has been appointed by the unit president, beginning with Founding President Greg Hardcastle, to chair the annualnominations committee to recommend new unit officers. Bill has been elected to the state California Republican Assembly (CRA) executive board several times in in the past threedecades, for various positions but most often as state vice president and three times representing California to the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA). He has also served as CRA’s Chaplain for 6 years — organizing Prayer Breakfasts and delivering invocations and benedictionswhenever we met. Presently, Bill is serving his 4th term as national committeeman – representing the CRA at the national level, the NFRA. Currently Bill is on the NFRA executive board as Sgt. at Arms – previously he has served on the NFRA executive board as parliamentarian and twice elected as regional vice president. Bill considers his two most important contributions to California’s Republican Party were his recruiting of two SRA founding members to run for and then win seats in the California State Assembly – the Honorable David Knowles and the Honorable Barbara Alby. Bill is a 35-year member of CRA, joining SRA in 1986. He has been a voting member of the state GOP central committee since high school in 1972 and is the former vice chair of the Sacramento County GOP.
